In the fall of 1993 it occurred to 3 secondary school-boys in their early teens to form a band entitled Enjoyable. It happened in Kursk - a small town in central Russia where it was hard to find more than a hundred of indie music freaks, no clubs, no college radios & "no future" (just quoting). That's why all the band early line-ups were first of all a coalition of real friends & only afterwards - a musical group. Guys didn't have decent musical instruments & having no chance to earn money to buy them started making sounds of broken acoustic guitars, one-string bass, accordion, tuba, pans & buckets. Inspite of breaking-ups & reunions the main figures of that period were Nick - guitar, Jeremy - drums, Pinia - bass, vocal, texts (these are all nicknames, real ones do not matter). The group preferred experimenting to studying musical theory, it always sounded punky (but not too straight punky). In 1994 in Kursk the 1st indie club "Ariston" was opened. It influenced the trio greatly - new people, cool local & foreign music. TThe band's title got its contemporary variant - E.N.JoyAble (in 1995 it was an abbreviation for Ecstasy Noisy Joy Able which meant "we're able to provide a noisy joy to you & you'll feel ecstasy"; now it has no meaning). They started playing electric guitars, but Nick & Leps (ex-Jeremy) departed (later they formed Dr. Morpheus, Peyote Brothers). Pinia found a new drummer Lars but failed with a constant guitar player. Following Les Halmas' (Switzerland) example E.N.JoyAble kept on as drums & bass duet. (Now we use only bass & no guitar on principle). The first appearing on stage at the Ariston fest in 1996 was unsuccessful. The guys tried to compensate it by making a record. Thus "The Assholeness pride" single appeared. It contained lo-fi improvisations. The group didn't have a place to rehearse & drums to play. They had been solving the problem for a year & a half. During that time Pinia took part in the cyberpunk project Intoxicate Snots (formed by Nick & Leps). In 1997 Lars & Pinia joined the post-punk band No Fate(later pop rock group Chocolate), they became able to rehearse as E.N.JoyAble as well. At that moment they added an eclectic element to their music inspired by Moorpaul (Germany). The duet organized some gigs but played only for specially invited audience. In 1998 the 3rd member appeared - Holly - keys, vocal. The early Stranglers' echo can be found in their music since then. A year later the band recorded "Crazyhouse in the Crazyhouse" album. To make no expenses they used PC drums & home studio ''Monolab''; its owner, their friend, a leader of Monopoly (later famous remixer & Holly's husband) Valera Guyvoronskiy did really much for the band. Lars was fired for showing no interest to the recording process. Pinia & Holly gave up live performances & became a studio group. To distribute their records E.N.JoyAble chose DIY network. Visiting the USA Pinia tried to find some releasing label but failed. In December-2002 consolidating their unique style the duet finished their second album "Our Reply to the Sun". The 2 albums were released in Russia as CD-R by the band itself. For next 2 years E.N.JoyAble built its distro network and got its material released by German, French and Danish labels. In July-2004 E.N.JoyAble started making a new album. But Holly and Valera were off due to their divorce. New members appeared at once: Leps (drums, bass) was glad to come back; Dave (who's been always influencing the group's philosophy) found Semenova, a new vocalist and keys-player. In 8 months this trio composed "IsitIndia?" with lyrics in English (Russian version with a different title was created as well).Bloated Sasquatch Beer Theatre Audio from Denmark was first to release this new work. Currently E.N.JoyAble is searching for more labels to cooperate with. They have time for side projects as well. All the band members took part in phoneline noise series 356-0-356 released by Monopolka. Leps is assisting Semenova in her solo project. "Our music is strange & there are few people who listen to it in a certain geographical point. But the world is great & great is the number of these points; so, we have found & are still looking for our listeners & only this (but not profit) keeps E.N.JoyAble turn".
